About Me
I’m Michaela Miller, a dedicated Mental Health Therapist with a Master of Social Work from National University and a Bachelor’s in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development from Pittsburg State University.
I am passionate about helping others heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. I support individuals, couples, children, and families through life’s most challenging moments. Whether that’s navigating trauma, managing emotional distress, or building healthier relationships. My approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and deep respect for each person’s unique journey.
My professional background includes serving as a Peer Support Specialist and Victim Advocate at the Cochise Family Advocacy Center, where I supported survivors of violent crime during and after forensic interviews and medical forensic exams. I also worked as a Foster Care Intern at Wellroot Family Services, advocating for children and families through school visits, court hearings, and resource coordination. Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors for Fountain of Hope Counseling, supporting organizational governance and outreach efforts.
What problem do you strive to overcome?
Many people feel unseen, unheard, or unsupported, especially when navigating trauma, emotional distress, or major life transitions. Seeking therapy can feel intimidating, leaving them overwhelmed and unsure of where to begin.
My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where clients can show up exactly as they are. By leading with empathy and authenticity, I help clients feel supported, respected, and empowered to take the next step toward healing.
My Approach
I believe healing happens through connection. Using a person-centered and strengths-based perspective, I walk alongside my clients with compassion and respect.
I draw from a variety of evidence-based methods, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Motivational Interviewing
Strengths-Based Therapy
Interpersonal Therapy
These approaches are especially helpful for addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. My specialties include child abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse/assault, self-acceptance, emotional regulation, and coping strategies.
What to Expect from Therapy
Because everyone learns and processes differently, I incorporate creative and reflective tools into therapy, such as novels, self-help workbooks, journaling, and other activities. These resources can spark insight, encourage self-reflection, and create meaningful engagement with the healing process.
The result is a therapeutic experience that feels natural, empowering, and uniquely tailored to each client.

More Than Just My Work
I love starting my day with strength training at the gym, which helps me stay grounded and energized. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three fur babies, who keep life full of love and laughter.
When it’s time to relax, you’ll often find me binge-watching classic sitcoms like Everybody Loves Raymond, My Wife and Kids, and Modern Family. I’m also a true crime podcast fan: Crime Junkie is my favorite! These small joys keep me balanced and remind me of the importance of connection and curiosity in everyday life.
