Short Biography

About Me

Hey, I’m Deunte! I’m a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, both from Georgia Southern University.

My work centers on wellbeing, self-actualization, and growth. I see every person as resilient, ever-changing, and capable of moving through suffering toward purpose. I have experience across community mental health and university counseling settings, working with young adults and adults navigating a wide range of life experiences.

What Problem Do You Strive to Overcome?

Therapy doesn’t always have a great reputation — and for some people, that’s earned. It can feel like showing up week after week without anything really changing. Maybe the approach didn’t fit, or sessions never moved beyond just talking.

My goal is to offer something different. Therapy with me is about transformation, not just conversation. It’s about figuring out what’s kept you stuck, identifying your next step, and building a genuine connection where you never have to mask or pretend. Your story is unique — and the way we work together will be too.

My Approach

I use Person-Centered therapy as my foundation, leading with empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard to create a warm, trusting environment from the start.

I draw from evidence-based methods including:

  • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)
  • Psychoanalytic Therapy
  • Existential Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing

Through these approaches, I support clients working through trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and LGBTQ+ concerns.

What to Expect from Therapy

No two people are the same, and no two treatment plans should be either. Sessions are tailored to where you are right now — what feels heavy, what feels unclear, and what you’re ready to work toward. My role is to be genuinely in your corner: someone who listens without judgment and walks alongside you through whatever season of life you’re in.

Whether you’re in crisis, in transition, or simply ready for something to shift — there is space for you here.

More Than Just My Work

Outside of the therapy room, you’ll find me scrolling TikTok, grinding League of Legends, or deep into a new anime. I love spending time with my cats, hanging with friends, working out, and editing my ever-growing travel list. Life outside of work keeps me grounded, curious, and connected — which ultimately makes me a better therapist.
