Short Biography

About Me

I’m Jessica Lewis, MSW, LSW (IL), a dedicated social work professional with a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia.

I am passionate about empowering individuals to recognize their strengths, overcome obstacles, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives. My professional background spans school-based social work, child welfare, veteran healthcare, and community services — and throughout each setting, I have remained committed to advocating for vulnerable populations and building collaborative partnerships that foster real outcomes.

What Problem Do You Strive to Overcome?

Many people come to therapy carrying invisible weight — anxiety, grief, family stress, or the quiet exhaustion of navigating life without adequate support. They may feel stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward, especially when the challenges they face have built up over time.

My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences and emotions at their own pace — and where they leave each session with greater clarity, confidence, and practical tools for the road ahead.

My Approach

I believe meaningful growth begins with a trusting therapeutic relationship. Using a strengths-based, person-centered framework and evidence-based practices, I tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs, goals, and life circumstances.

My work focuses on helping clients:

  • Identify and build on their existing strengths
  • Develop effective coping strategies and emotional resilience
  • Navigate life transitions, family dynamics, and relational challenges
  • Work through trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress in a supportive environment

Whether we are addressing a specific concern or working toward broader personal growth, the process is always collaborative, compassionate, and uniquely yours.

What to Expect from Therapy

Therapy with me is a safe, supportive space where you do not have to perform or pretend. I approach each session with respect, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to your well-being. Together we will identify what is working, explore what needs to shift, and develop practical strategies that promote healing, self-awareness, and overall balance.

It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they pursue greater fulfillment and confidence in their lives — and I take that responsibility seriously.

More Than Just My Work

Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time outdoors and finding moments to recharge in nature. I’m an avid fan of crime dramas, medical series, and documentaries — a good binge-watch is my idea of a perfect evening. To stay balanced and well, I incorporate Pilates, water-based sensory experiences, and music into my daily routine. I also enjoy reading, discovering new books, and expressing my creativity through crafting projects. These interests keep me grounded, inspired, and energized — both personally and professionally.
