About Me
I’m Leigh McBride, a Licensed Master Social Worker with a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Alabama and a Master of Science in Human Development from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.
I am passionate about helping individuals feel safe, seen, and supported as they navigate life’s most difficult seasons. Whether someone is working through grief, managing anxiety or depression, facing a chronic illness, or moving through a major life transition, I believe healing is possible and it begins with connection.
My approach is strengths-based and person-centered. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help clients identify their inner resources and develop skills that foster lasting growth and resilience. I meet each person where they are and walk alongside them with empathy, curiosity, and deep respect.
What Problem Do You Strive to Overcome?
Many people carry invisible weight, the kind that builds quietly over time through loss, chronic stress, illness, or simply feeling unsupported. Reaching out for help can feel vulnerable or even impossible, especially when you’re not sure where to begin.
My goal is to create a safe, trusting, and judgment-free space where clients feel empowered to show up exactly as they are. I believe that meaningful change happens when people are met with compassion and respect not pressure or judgment.
My Approach
I believe healing begins where judgment ends. Using a strengths-based and person-centered perspective, I help clients reconnect with their own resilience and develop tools that support real, lasting change.
I draw from evidence-based methods including:
These approaches are especially effective for addressing grief and loss, depression, anxiety, chronic illness adjustment, and life transitions.
What to Expect from Therapy
Therapy with me is a collaborative process. I take time to understand your story, listen without judgment, and work with you to identify what feels most important to address. Sessions are tailored to your pace and your goals there is no one-size-fits-all approach here.
My background in hospice, medical, and mental health settings has taught me how to hold space for complexity. I am comfortable sitting with difficult emotions and helping clients find their footing even in the hardest moments.

Issues I Work With
More Than Just My Work
Outside of the therapy room, you’ll find me playing board games with my children or taking neighborhood walks together, those simple moments mean everything to me. On rainy days, I love curling up with a good book or movie to recharge. And I’ll be the first to admit, not a day goes by without a piece of chocolate!
