began inadvertently during the Covid-19 pandemic. The world was at a standstill. The physical and often emotional distractions provided by family, friends, work, and socialization were no longer a comfort. Individuals were forced to recognize past traumas and couldn’t hide from those in the present. We all had moments to reflect and were forced to truly look in the mirror. The owner of Relabeled Therapy coped with the difficulty by giving to others. She provided daily check-ins and later recorded positive affirmation videos as a means to inspire herself and others during times where we all needed someone. During these conversations, she recognized the “labels” we place on ourselves and others hinders the experience of greatness.

Relabeled started as an honest moment. We all are given and place labels on people, things, ourselves and even situations. In recognizing the labels, we also have options. We can live with the label, whether placed or self-imposed, or we can take control and relabel what we want our lives to be. We can live in our highest glow regardless of background, upbringing, financial status, or even those learned behaviors that have held us back. Thus Relabeled, A Self-Help Firm, LLC was brought into fruition.

My name is Sheika Cox-Bey.

I love what I do and was blessed to find my passion early in life.

With over 14 years in Social Services, your situations and concerns are approached without judgement and recommendations are made with a fresh perspective. Treatment approaches incorporate techniques of Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavior Therapy utilizing a Strengths Perspective. This simply means that I work with your strengths to incorporate non-intrusive techniques that will eventually come natural and you can apply them across various systems.

I come from a background similar as many. Poverty, unhealthy coping, self-doubt, and even blame. We’ve all done things that we’re ashamed to admit and made decisions based on impulse. How do you pull yourself out of it? Who do you call for support? What do you do when your past no longer defines your future narrative? For me, I’ve taken the hand that life dealt and figured out methods to work toward my personal definition of success. Clients that I service appreciate the warmth and acceptance during conversations while also respecting those moments of growth or “mirror holding moments”.

All of this to say, you are the expert regarding your life. I am here to assist along the way. It's not always a simple journey but I will be here to provide tools that will empower you in multiple areas of mental health, emotional and professional functioning.
